Since We Last Spoke

JB taking in a summerset over the Bow Valley
The fine weather that has rolled into Canmore after a 'rainy-rainy-rainy-and-more-rain-June' has been welcomed with open arms to the Bow Valley. Since we last spoke, The Academy has visited Nelson, BC for an epic road ride through the Kootenays (198km to be exact) and some ski striding intensity. The end of June also marked a testing period consisting of an uphill sprint prologue on skate roller skis and 8km Canada Day run. I was supposed to do an uphill double pole test as well, but my lack of recovery and morning heart rates dictated otherwise. I'm stoked to report that I set a new PB and course record of 3mins 30sec on the uphill prologue course as well as besting my last year's 8km run time by 1min 13secs to finish with a new PB of 31:55.01.

Progress is being made but there is a lot of work to be done, starting with a Haig Glacier Yoyo camp kicking off tomorrow!

A special thanks to The Simply Bar for the hook ups. I'm really happy to be an ambassador for this product spearheaded by active women entrepreneurs out of Toronto, Ontario who have developed a nutritious supplement bar free from the 'junk'. It's that simple.

My first harvest at the Canmore Community Garden!! These radishes are the most delicious and peppery I've had! Everything tastes better when you grow it yourself.
